Q&A with Mick Toohey.

Mick’s story began in earthmoving and quarrying then switched to supplying attachments then to starting a business which makes attachments for the Earthmoving, Demolition, Rail Industries to attach to Excavation equipment.

Mick has a fully equipped workshop where he can take an idea and turn it into a complete working product. He continually comes up with new innovative pieces of equipment such as Rock Saws in either Diamond or Tungsten tipped, Railway Under Cutters, Rail trailers, Tampers and Hi Rail equipment as well.

Q&A with Craig Brewin.

Operations Manager Craig Brewin has been part of the management team at family owned business Kavanagh Industries for 12 years. In that time they have become Australia’s #1 supplier of stainless steel/aluminium duct work. They specialise in high volume/fast turnaround and can produce up to 900 pieces of duct per day. They use approx. 185 tonnes of steel a month. One of their projects is the huge Barangaroo site.

The company has invested millions of dollars in state of the art fibre laser cutters to complement their 5 plasma cutters. They also use automated metal/insulation cutting equipment and 3D design software.
