Australia Day for the Cumberland City Council (CCC) was a wonderful evening of entertainment, family and friends.

The Cumberland City Council was formed in 2016 and this event is the 4th Australia Day celebration for CCC. Mayor Steve Christou was voted in on September 9 2019. The event opening address opened the event at 6pm with Mayor Steve Christou addressing the community at 7pm. Even when the rain started to fall at 9pm the community kicked and enjoyed the entertainment from musicians such as Carlos C Major, D Minor and Kookies n Kream.

As Vice President of the Cumberland Business Chamber I was honoured to be welcomed to the VIP tent and see the unfolding of all the entertainment rides and thrills and shrills of children going wild with extra candy and lots of rides.

I had the opportunity to chat with – Photo Right to left – The Mayor – Steve Christou, Deputy Mayor – Eddy Sarkis, Past Lord Mayor of Parramatta and now leader of The Our Local Community Party – Paul Garrard and Helen Hughes – Our Local Comunity Party Representative for South Granville.

The Australia Day Celebrations Day was held in Holroyd Gardens starting at 6pm and even though the day was hot and steamy by 6pm the cooler air started to appear. The international food stalls were amazing and there were loads of attractions for the kids including stalls from local sporting organisations putting on games and attractions for the little ones

Congratulations to the team at CCC for putting on a very special and entertaining evening.
