Food Manufacturing Set To Grow.

A growth strategy developed in Melbourne (the Food & Beverage Growth Plan by North Melbourne Regional Development Australia in collaboration with the Federal and State Governments) aims to double the size of food manufacturing in that region over the next decade. This means $5B turnover and another 7000 jobs. RMIT University will provide a vital R&D support role to the manufacturers to help them maintain a competitive advantage. They are starting out with a pilot project which will feature a state-of-the-art food pilot plant, which will enable Victorian food businesses to test new products without interrupting production.
