Kiwis Blame Australia For Manufacturing Slow Down.

Despite having a stronger manufacturing/export market than Australia in 2015 the New Zealanders have been quick to blame us for any blips on the chart. Their manufacturing index is running at 51.8 (positive) whereas the Australian figure has been below 50 for a long time (decline). Manufacturing NZ says “the high value of the New Zealand dollar relative to the Australia…the general lacklustre Australian economy causing lower demand for New Zealand products.” An economist at the Bank of New Zealand added “The weakness in Australia may be affecting sales.”
