The NSW Government is funding this essential maintenance work under its $1.5 billion program to maintain and improve the 18,028 kilometre state road network.
Roads and Maritime Services invited feedback in December 2016 on alternative night work schedules for carrying out asphalting work on Victoria Street between O’Connell Street and Walter Street. We received feedback from one organisation supporting the preferred night work schedule. After reviewing the feedback, we have decided to proceed with working up to five nights a week for a two week period to minimise the disruption period for residents and road users. We thank everyone for considering the proposal and for their feedback.
Our work schedule:
We will be on site for 10 shifts between Thursday 8 June and Thursday 27 July, excluding public holidays, weather permitting. Our work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Friday.
How will the work affect you?
There will be some noise associated with this work. We will make every effort to minimise its impact, including doing noisier work before 11pm.
There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe. Partial road closures will be in place and may affect travel times. Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
