World-First 3D Printed Spine.

Australia’s Prince of Wales Hospital has performed a world-first by placing a #D printed vertebrae in a patient’s spine. The patient had a chordoma on the top two vertebrae which would have led to the loss of movement in his limbs and inability to speak and eat, followed by a slow, painful death. The titanium implant was made by Melbourne’s Anatomics which has also made world-first sternum and rib implants with 3D printing.
